Title: 15 Free Things to Do in Indianapolis (That Your Wallet Will Love)

Hey there, fellow Midwest mamas (and anyone trying to stretch that travel budget)! If you’re planning a trip to Indianapolis or just looking for some weekend fun without spending a dime, this post is for you. I’m all about making memories without draining the bank account, and Indy delivers in a big way. Here’s my go-to list of totally free, family-friendly things to do in and around Indianapolis.

1. Walk the Indianapolis Canal Walk
This scenic 3-mile loop in downtown Indy is stroller-friendly and full of ducks, bridges, and skyline views. Bring snacks and let the kids run (or scoot) wild.

2. Explore the Indianapolis Cultural Trail
Public art, murals, and bike-friendly paths connect six Cultural Districts. Great for family walks or a DIY urban scavenger hunt.

4. Visit the Soldiers & Sailors Monument
Climb the steps for free (or ride the elevator for $2) and get the best view in the city. The kids will love the giant statues.

5. The Commons Playground (Columbus, IN – Worth the Drive!)
It’s indoors, massive, and totally free. Only about 45 minutes away from Indy and so worth it.
